2017-2018 Excellence Grants

ARHS Wellness Improvement Grant.  This grant funds PE curriculum revisions equipment upgrades to attract a wider range of students and create a culture of health.

Grant Applicant: ARHS Athletic Director Rich Ferro, PE/Health Department Head Ken Jacque, and PE/Health Educator Brittni Upchurch.  AEF Grant: $6,000

Fractions Facilitation Course for Elementary Math Coaches.  This grant addresses disparities in fraction ability, serving students across elementary schools.

Grant Applicant: Elementary Math Coaches Amy Chang, Elizabeth Pretel, and Mary Lambert.  AEF Grant: $7,230

Picture My Immigration Story.  This grant funds student research and storytelling of their family immigration stories through pictures, stories, and song.  

Grant Applicant: ARMS Interim Co-Assistant Principal Alicia Lopez and ARMS Interim Principal Patty Bode.  AEF Grant: $10,000

Undoing Racism.  This grant pays for training for 20 teachers across the District to facilitate dialogue and to develop Racial Equity Professional Learning Communities across elementary schools.

Grant Applicant: Fort River School Adjustment Counselor Ruth Killough-Hill.  AEF Grant: $7,000
